    June 26, 2009

June 26, 2009 is a multimedia performance work centered around my relationship with my own memory. The date references the day I learned that Michael Jackson had died while I was undergoing treatment in an inpatient mental health hospital. For some reason, although my memory of my two months there is foggy, this particular day ten years ago has always remained clearly in my mind. Although not purely narrative, the piece recreates the emotional landscape of this experience and plays with the feeling of a slippage of time that a powerful memory can create.
